BenchAlgo vs TradingView for backtesting

Side by side
TradingView facts come from its own documentation, checked on 3 November 2026. It changes often, so check the pages linked below before you rely on a detail.
| Feature | BenchAlgo | TradingView |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Backtesting and validation for futures strategies | Charting platform with a strategy tester |
| Strategy language | Python, usually written by your AI | Pine Script |
| Markets | ES, NQ and GC, with micro contracts | The symbols you chart |
| Fills | Next bar open at the earliest, stop first inside a bar, gaps at the worse price | A broker emulator fills orders on historical bars after a bar closes, using chart data by default and assuming no gaps inside a bar |
| Detail inside a bar | 1-minute bars on every plan | Lower-timeframe data inside bars on Premium and Ultimate plans |
| Costs | Set by the harness: at least 1.5 ticks per side on market and stop fills, plus commission. A strategy cannot lower them | Set in the script or its settings. If not specified, no commission is applied |
| Lookahead | Checked on every run. A failed check blocks a Lead or Validated verdict | Up to the script author. The docs warn that lookahead without an offset returns data from the future on historical bars |
| Report | Twelve screens, a score out of 10 and a verdict | A strategy report with metrics, Sharpe and Sortino ratios and the list of trades |
| Live trading | Not yet | A trading panel connects to supported brokers. TradingView acts as an interface |
We found no built-in walk-forward or PBO report in TradingView’s strategy documentation. Community scripts exist, and you can step date ranges by hand.
